Presenter: Christopher J. Murphy III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Christopher J. Murphy III is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of 1st Source Corporation and Chairman and CEO of 1st Source Bank, a South Bend, Indiana-based financial institution with more than $4.54 billion in assets.

With over 35 years of involvement at 1st Source, Mr. Murphy was named President and CEO of the Bank in 1977, CEO of the Corporation in 1979, and Chairman in 1998.

Mr. Murphy has a strong educational background having received a B.A. in Government from the University of Notre Dame, an M.B.A. with Distinction from Harvard University Business School and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School.

In addition to his responsibilities at 1st Source, Mr. Murphy is a member and past chairman of the Indiana Higher Education Commission which coordinates planning and budgeting for higher education in Indiana. He serves on the boards of the University of Chicago Hospitals and Health System; the Dean’s Advisory Council of The Indiana University School of Medicine and Chairs The Medical Education Foundation which also serves as the Citizens Advisory Board for The Indiana University Medical School South bend at Notre Dame. He is a member and past chairman of the Advisory Council of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre Dame and has lectured at the University of Notre Dame Law School London Program and in the Notre Dame Business School.

Mr. Murphy has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the World Presidents’ Organization. He was named Business Leader of the Year in 2000 by the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce and is also a board and executive committee member of the organization. He received the W. Scott Miller Distinguished Business Leader of the Year award in 2010 from the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce. He has been awarded The Sagamore of the Wabash by Indiana’s Governor and he was inducted into the Indiana Academy and serves on its Board of Regents. He is also a member of the Board of The Independent Colleges of Indiana. In addition, Mr. Murphy presently serves on the Boards of the Indiana Board for Depositories; Memorial Home Care; the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Notre Dame; Innovation Park at Notre Dame, and a number of other private foundations.

Mr. Murphy lives in South Bend, Indiana.


Presenter: Larry E. Lentych, Chief Financial Officer

Larry Lentych is the Chief Financial Officer of 1st Source Corporation, a $4.5 billion bank holding company located in northern Indiana. He has worked in this capacity since 1991 and has been employed by 1st Source since 1974. As the CFO, Mr. Lentych is a corporate officer of 1st Source and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. He oversees corporate financial strategy, administrative services, accounting functions within the corporation, financial analysis of acquisitions, and taxation and tax consequences of corporate decisions.

Mr. Lentych earned his Certified Public Accountant designation after graduating from Indiana University – South Bend in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He initially worked for Price Waterhouse as a senior accountant for 5 years, supervising field work for major audit clients, specializing in the finance industry.

Mr. Lentych is an active alumnus of Indiana University – South Bend, serving on the school’s Board of Advisors as Vice Chair and on the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association. He is also the treasurer of the Indiana University – Notre Dame Medical Education Foundation and is a member of the South Bend Rotary Club.
